Requirements

The number of Youth(40) and Adults(17) that can go on the trip in Mid June is limited to 57. Any final places on the teams will be determined by the participation points earned during the year and the general willingness of the individual to work well with youth and adults. The Asbury ASP Board of Directors has final authority to determine eligibility for the trip.

  • Points are earned by working the six pancake breakfasts (full shifts), rehearsing and singing at the seven Asbury Contemporary Services, attending the three ASP Habitat Workshops and working the ASP Italian sausage sale at the Fall Festival. A total of 33-35 points are possible, a minimum of 18 are required to be eligible to go on the trip.
  • All first time youth and adults must attend a safety training session given at one of the ASP work days. No make ups will be scheduled.
  • Each participant must raise $ 300 in sponsor money by early March. The participant is responsible for collection of the money and sponsor forms. Money does not count as in until it is collected and the paperwork is turned in.
  • All participants will be expected to follow all ASP and Asbury ASP rules, attend all informational meetings and share their experiences at the church service in July.
  • We will attempt to take as many first time parents of youth that wish to go on the trip as long as they meet the point requirements and work well with youth
  • Our goal is to, whenever possible, take at least 50 % experienced leaders and male and female leaders on each team. This goal will take precedence.
  • Point totals will be available at each pancake breakfast for your information.
  • Any youth wanting to go on ASP must have completed the 9 th grade before the summer trip.
  • The informational meetings on the schedule are there for your benefit. If you don’t attend, it is your responsibility to get the information. The annual schedule is published in advance but is subject to change. We advise each person to recheck the schedule monthly and the news online regularly. It is each participant’s responsibility to know when each event is taking place, A courtesy call will be made to schedule shifts for the breakfasts. If we don’t reach you, call me.
